QUEEN'S CHAMPION

The Penlynden loyalty to the Crown was warmly honored in a statuette awarded to Sir Guy Penlynden by the Queen. As 14 year old Roger gazes in awe at this symbol of courage he is acutely conscious of his great family heritage and inwardly assumes a vow to Champion Elizabeth at whatever cost to life and limb. How vow is ironically put to the test when Roger is accused of a plotting against his beloved Queen and is forced to flee Penlynden Hall to vindicate himself by tracking down the real conspirators. The story is built around the breathtaking escapades and adventures that befall this brave ""outlaw"" in his attempt to bring to justice those traitors who would serve England up to the Spanish Armada. Roger's adversary is the crafty power-hungry Thomas Wycherly -- but his colorful friends steal the scene -- the motley crew of servants who follow Roger to victory. This is high adventure written in the ""King's English"" requiring a level of concentration that will be amply rewarded.
