THE REDLANDER

Local history of East Texas as a background for Dave's search for himself and his profession, with a melodramatic finale for the climax. Dave was orphaned by floods and adopted by successive members of the Daughters of the Fraternian Republic. In spite of pressure, he went his own way, made a name for himself, unearthed proof which book the foundation from under the feet of the order, and found himself launched on a political career. So-so in the telling, but at least it provides variation on a Western theme in unaffected telling of the early years of a man of destiny.
