MOSES AND MONOTHEISM

A new book by Freud means sales. But -- this you should note -- is not in line with his psychological writings, but belongs in the field with his Totem and Taboo, for anthropologists, etc. Moses is the original ""father figure"" and Freud shows the role that figure has played in Jewish and Christian evolution. There are many speculative digressions, theorizations (many debatable ones), and there is little in common with his lucid, scientific writings in his major field. Very limited in appeal.
