KIRKUS REVIEW

Dad is a self-satisfied stumblebum but the Bear Scouts are always prepared--to rescue him from his folly. After falling in a ravine, being attacked by crocodiles (where is this forest anyway?), and choking on his own cooking, Dad stops scoffing at the Bear Scout Guidebook and starts studying. Strictly a bad example.
