THE VIRGIN ISLANDS

The Virgin Islands are currently top ranking favorite holiday goals, so this practical how-to-do-it guide should prove a useful reference book. It falls far below the standard of beckoning allure offered by some of the books on the Caribbean area; historically, biographically, scientifically, socially -- the material is sketchy and inadequate. But why quibble over omissions? It is sternly factual:- how to get there, where to stay, what to see, where to shop, what to buy, what to do and how to do it, what are the available facilities for emergency needs of the traveller, what the procedure if you wish to become a resident. The bulk of space goes to the American islands, but the British Virgin Islands are not bypassed. Definitely a handbook for prospective travelers, not a book that makes those in doubt yearn to pack a bag and take to the air.
