Tough talk- rough play- in another Joe Spinder, Singer Batts murder mystery. Again Joe steps in where angels fear to tread, gets involved in not one but two murders, seems to be covering for a lad whose guilt seems evident to others- and finally fails to save his adopted client, but clears his name, and spots the master mind behind extortion, fraud and murder. Of course, Joe is just the leg man- and Singer Batts, who prefers the halls of scholarship, is the intellect that punches the right buttons.
