by Thomas Page ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 11, 1973
The portentous but oddly compelling tale of the sudden appearance on earth's surface of a tribe of pyrotechnical subterranean cockroaches. Named parmitera after their discoverer -- a disturbingly uncliched mad scientist -- the beasties have an unfortunate propensity for setting fire to anything in their path. There's a substantial amount of disconcerting but apparently sound entymology and enough character to keep you reading however much you may be bugged by the cockroaches.
