Second in this author's series of Baseball Greats, this collection of brief biographical sketches of twenty great sluggers since 1900, is tempting fare for idol-worshippers. Although men unknown to the present generation are represented -- Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Eddie Collins etc. recent and current diamond greats have their share of the plaudits Joe , Ted Williams and Mel Ott and of course the Babe and Lou Gehrig. Better written and balanced than the usual fan-magazine quickie with ""insides"" on batting techniques as well as personal history.
