by W. H. Auden ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
I am quite encouraged with my intellectual development -- or perhaps Auden, since applying for citizenship, has slipped down to my level. Whatever the cause, I actually understood most of the poetry in this collection, and liked it. For that very increase of clarity and humanness, this may be a less popular Auden with the fans. A new collection of poetry, personal verse dealing with places, people, events, songs of performance and a miscellany of moods and commentary. This will be an Auden first.
