Despite the newfangled devices for traveling, communicating, and perceiving--this book is rich in imaginative projections of a future interplanetary world--the problems are largely contemporary. Ill use of soil, hunger, and greed lay waste the planets which on a larger scale, enact the struggle now waged between nations. And it is finally love and reason, exercised by an earth man and his feathered Martian bride which promises to restore order to the universe. Wallace West paints the world of the future with bold strokes, and those who enjoy the game of creating an atmosphere based entirely on scientific fantasy should enjoy this otherwise undistinguished novel.
