Remotest northwest Canada is where young Steve Haliburton comes to help his father with the sink or swim gold mining project he has been priming for three years. Mystery develops when Steven's rock collection (he wants to study geology) is stolen en route, but as he and a friend, Jack, help Mr. Haliburton brave the wilderness, the gold hungry petty thieves are trapped.
