by William Hamilton ‧ RELEASE DATE: May 1, 1959
The Association Press has added to the rich variety of their paper-back Reflection Books with three volumes of introductions to the four Gospels. Each attempts much in small compass, -- to make available for the average church-goer a clear knowledge of what the authors of these Gospels were attempting to do as they presented their witness. They are neither a study guide such as Bible classes use, nor a commentary such as Christian ministers use, but something in between, fuller and more technical than the first, less technical and more practical than the second. They are aimed at the laity who would understand their Gospels better, therefore making their guidance and inspiration more available to them for daily living. Used in conjunction with the Gospels themselves they cannot help but be of immense profit to those who will use them. Their author, Dr. William Hamilton, is Associate Professor of Theology at Colgate-Rochester Divinity School.
