Actor Zachary Levi will make his literary debut with a book about mental health, People magazine reports.
Levi’s Radical Love: Learning To Accept Yourself and Others will be published this summer by Harper Horizon. The press says the book “combines witty, touching, and powerful commentary with relatable illustrations to help you on your own path toward mental wellness.”
Levi became a celebrity after acting in the comedy series Chuck, which ran from 2007 to 2012. He’s also known for his roles in films including Tangled, Thor: Ragnarok, and Shazam!
His book will detail his struggles with anxiety and depression, caused in part by trauma he endured as a child.
“At 37 years old, at a time when others around me may have seen a guy living a dream life, I wanted to die,” Levi wrote in an Instagram post announcing his book. “It took me 37 years to finally even begin to understand my own mental health, and take action in my journey of healing. And while I wish I would’ve done it a lot sooner, the truth is that there is only now. No matter where you are in life, no matter how much damage you may have suffered at the hands of your abusers, you can start healing from that abuse and living a better life, right now.”
Radical Love is slated for publication on June 28.
