Billy Eichner will tell the story of his life and career in an exclusive audiobook memoir coming later this year.

Macmillan Audio will release the comedian and actor’s Billy on Billy in the spring, the publisher announced in a news release. It calls the book “a hilarious and poignant memoir exclusively on audio about his unlikely path to stardom, the artists that inspired him, and the forces that shaped him along the way.”

Eichner began his career in comedy as the co-host of the live stage variety and talk show Creation Nation, later gaining significant fame as the host of Billy on the Street, which premiered in 2011 and ran for five seasons. On the show, Eichner surprised New York City pedestrians by running up and loudly asking them questions about popular culture.

He went on to act in series including Parks and Recreation, Difficult People, and Friends From College, as well as films such as The Lion King and Bros.

“Beyond delving into his experience creating Billy on the Street and Bros, Billy shares funny and inspiring stories about growing up in Queens as the chubby gay kid of two loving, idiosyncratic parents while paying tribute to family members, teachers, mentors, and—in true Billy on the Street fashion—his all-time favorite entertainers,” Macmillan says.

“This book is unlike anything I’ve ever done as a writer or performer,” Eichner said in a statement. “Being best known for my loud character on Billy on the Street, I wanted the book to be released exclusively in audio so that my fans could get a better sense of my real voice and where I came from.”

Billy on Billy is scheduled for release on May 19.
