The first book by Pope Leo XIV is coming in 2026.
HarperOne will publish the pontiff’s Peace Be With You!: My Words to the Church and to the World next winter, the press announced in a news release. It says the book offers “a vision for peace, unity, and reconciliation in a fractured world.”
Leo, born Robert Francis Prevost, was elected pope in May, stunning observers of the Roman Catholic Church who did not expect an American to be selected by the papal conclave. Leo, a Chicago native, had previously served as prior general of the Order of Saint Augustine and as the bishop of Chiclayo, Peru. He has centered his papacy around issues of peace, ecumenism, and workers’ rights.
The book, HarperOne says, collects addresses and sermons delivered during his papacy, including his first apostolic blessing, his address to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and his video message to young people, “Called To Be a Light of Hope.”
“He shows us that unity is possible, and it begins in our hearts,” HarperOne says. “In his own words, Pope Leo XIV welcomes us all into communion and calls us to act to protect our shared humanity and our precious home.”
Peace Be With You! is scheduled for publication on Feb. 24, 2026.
