Comedian and game show host Iliza Shlesinger is writing a new essay collection for Abrams Books, Deadline reports.

In the book, titled All Things Aside, Shlesinger “skewers her quasi-mid-to-late 30s with a mix of high-minded, thought provoking and vulnerable comedy that works as well on the page as on the stage,” the publisher said.

Shlesinger rose to fame in 2008 after winning the NBC television series Last Comic Standing. She went on to host the game show Separation Anxiety on TBS. She’s made several stand-up comedy specials for Netflix and appeared in films like Instant Family and The Opening Act.

In 2017, she published her first book, Girl Logic: The Genius and the Absurdity, with Hachette imprint Weinstein Books. In an interview with NPR at the time, Shlesinger explained the titular theory behind her book, saying, “So women are expected to be so many things to so many people at once…We’re such complicated creatures, and we are expected to do and be so many things from so many people, and that factors into the way that we intake stimuli and process all of the things that we have to do all day.”

“Iliza has emerged as one of the true talents of her generation,” Abrams executive editor Samantha Weiner told Deadline. “She’s able to call out, cut through, and challenge the status quo with her smart, razor-sharp, and riotously funny voice, and we’re thrilled to be publishing her.”

All Things Aside is scheduled for publication next year.
