A new book from right-wing author and conspiracy theorist Dinesh D’Souza has been delayed because of a “significant error,” Newsweek reports.

2000 Mules, a companion book to D’Souza’s recent documentary film of the same name, had been scheduled for publication Tuesday by Regnery, the conservative press whose roster also includes authors Michelle Malkin and David Limbaugh.

D’Souza’s book, Regnery says, “makes a powerful argument that 2020 was a stolen election. More important, D’Souza proves it.” Claims that election fraud tipped the presidential election to Joe Biden, repeated by D’Souza and other right-wing activists, have been widely debunked.

On Monday, author Nancy Levine tweeted a screenshot from a book vendor with an image of the book’s cover, and text reading, “Please note, the title below needs to be pulled out of stores immediately due to FULL RECALL from Publisher.”

D’Souza confirmed this on Twitter, writing, “There is an elaborate sausage-making process that goes into a book. Somehow a significant error got missed by the publisher. It is now corrected but my book ‘2000 Mules’ is pushed back to October. The book is explosive so I’m glad it’s being done right. It will be worth the wait!”

Neither D’Souza nor Regnery would explain what the “significant error” in the book was. Regnery confirmed to Newsweek that the book has been delayed until October, although the publisher’s webpage for the book now has the release month listed as November.
