Emily Henry would very much like you to enjoy a great big beautiful frozen yogurt.
The romance author is partnering with the chain Pinkberry on a sweepstakes tied to the release of her latest novel, Great Big Beautiful Life, the company announced in a news release.
Readers entering the sweepstakes can win two prize packages. The grand prize includes “an autographed copy of Great Big Beautiful Life, a curated collection of Emily Henry’s novels paired with custom Pinkberry swag, Emily Henry branded items, and a $50 Pinkberry gift card.” (In New York, $50 will get you approximately five large “swirls,” if you forgo toppings.)
The second-place winner will also get Great Big Beautiful Life, swag and a gift card, as well as copies of books including The Truth According to Ember by Danica Nava and Flirting Lessons by Jasmine Guillory.
News of the collaboration comes a week after another restaurant announced a literary partnership. Sonic, the chain of drive-in fast-food restaurants, is working with romance authors Ashley Poston, Abby Jimenez, and Christina Lauren to launch a new line of “sweet topped lemonades.” (The announcement was somewhat overshadowed by Jimenez telling People magazine that she writes her books on her smartphone, presumably only stopping to order coney dogs and tater tots.)
At this point, we can only wait to see which authors decide to partner with fast-food joints over the summer. Jonathan Franzen putting his love for birds aside to shill for KFC? Sarah J. Maas urging you to visit Sbarro in your local food court of thorns and roses? A long-awaited collaboration between the two Kings, Stephen and Burger? Anything’s possible!
