Oops! They probably won’t do that again. The publisher of Jamie Lynne Spears’ forthcoming memoir has issued an apology for releasing “incorrect and incomplete information” about the book online.

“Worthy Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, became aware earlier today that premature information about Jamie Lynn Spears’s still-in-development book project has been erroneously released online to book retail sites,” the publisher told People in a statement on Friday. “We deeply regret that incorrect and incomplete information about her book has appeared in the public space, particularly at this sensitive time for Jamie Lynn and her family.”

Worthy Publishing noted that the book is “as-yet-untitled” and that the title that appeared online on Friday, “I Must Confess: Family, Fame, and Figuring It Out,” was “a placeholder title for internal use only.” The incorrect title references a lyric from the 1998 single “…Baby One More Time” by Jamie Lynn’s sister, Britney Spears.

The timing of the release of the erroneous information was notable because Britney’s court battle over her conservatorship has been very much in the news and Jamie Lynn recently expressed support for her sister on Instagram.

“Jamie Lynn’s book has been in development over the past 12 months and will allow the world to hear her inspiring story in her own words, for the first time,” Worth’s statement continued. “We look forward to sharing accurate and complete details about the project at the appropriate time and to celebrating the release of her memoir with Jamie Lynn and her fans next year.”

Jamie Lynn Spears’ book is scheduled for release in January 2022.
