Hudson Williams stars in one of the year’s hottest literary adaptations—and now he’s writing a book of his own.
The Canadian actor, who skyrocketed to fame as a lead actor in the series Heated Rivalry, told Wonderland magazine that he’s writing a “semi-autobiographical” manuscript.
Williams had a few small screen roles before being cast as Shane Hollander, a hockey star who falls in love with rival player Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) in Heated Rivalry, the series based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series of romance novels. The television series, which airs on HBO Max in the U.S., became an unexpected blockbuster hit and made instant celebrities of Williams and Storrie.
Asked by Wonderland how he’s navigating his newfound fame, Williams said, “I’ve been writing a lot. I have two separate journals. One is a manuscript—semi-autobiographical—about this period in my life, where I blur the lines between fiction and real life.”
In the interview, Williams gave a shoutout to an iconic American writer.
“There’s this writer I love, Joan Didion, and she once said she journals so that when she gets really old, she can pick up her books and find her way back to herself again,” he said. “That inspired me. It also helps with gratitude.”
