Joe Biden’s eldest granddaughter blasted authors Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson over their new book about the former president.

Naomi Biden, a lawyer and daughter of Hunter Biden, posted about Tapper and Thompson’s Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice To Run Again on the social platform X.

“Just read a copy of this silly book, and if anyone is curious for a review from someone who lived it first-hand: this book is political fairy smut for the permanent, professional chattering class,” Naomi Biden wrote. “The ones who rarely enter the arena, but profit from the spectacle of those that do.”

Tapper and Thompson’s book, published Tuesday by Penguin Press, makes the case that aides to Joe Biden covered up his mental and physical deterioration during the 2024 reelection campaign. In a starred review, a critic for Kirkus called the book “an authoritative indictment of a denial-plagued presidential run.”

The book made headlines even before its publication date, with news outlets reporting on excerpts from it, including the claim that Biden’s aides discussed the possibility that he might have to use a wheelchair during his second term were he to be reelected.

Naomi Biden’s post came one day after her grandfather announced that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had metastasized into his bones.

“Put simply, it amounts to a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired lies written by irresponsible self promoting journalists out to make a quick buck,” she wrote. “It relies on unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative that absolves them of any responsibility for our current national nightmare. All of this at the expense of a man so completely good and honest that it is impossible for these people to ever understand the why or how of it all. There are real stories to be told and one day they will be. I suspect history will reward the truth.”
