The National Book Foundation announced the authors who will appear at the fall season of NBF Presents, its series of public programs held across the nation and online.

The season will kick off on September 21 at the Brooklyn Book Festival in New York with a reading and conversation between Sigrid Nunez (The Vulnerables) and Weike Wang (Rental House).

On September 27, Laila Lalami (The Dream Hotel) and Deborah Jackson Taffa (Whiskey Tender) will appear at the bookstore Bookmarks in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and on October 7, Laird Hunt (Float Up, Sing Down), Erin Entrada Kelly (The Last Resort), and Octavio Quintanilla (The Book of Wounded Sparrows) will hold an event at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Jason De León (Soldiers and Kings) will be featured in an event with an author to be announced at the Portland Book Festival in Oregon on November 8.

Ruth Dickey, the executive director of the National Book Foundation, said in a statement, “This fall season of NBF Presents we are delighted to connect past National Book Foundation–honored authors with newly-minted Longlisters, convening timely, insightful conversations around the power of great literature and how it reflects, informs, and inspires.”
