Netflix has released a trailer for its film adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!

Rosenbloom’s comic young adult novel, published in 2005 by Hyperion, follows Stacy, a seventh-grade girl, who uninvites her best friend, Lydia, from her bat mitzvah after she discovers Lydia kissing Andy, Stacy’s biggest crush. A critic for Kirkus called the novel “light humor with a little lesson.”

The film, directed by Sammi Cohen from a screenplay by Alison Peck, stars Sunny Sandler as Stacy and Samantha Lorraine as Lydia. Stacy’s father is played by Sunny Sandler’s real-life father, Adam Sandler, and her mother is played by Idina Menzel.

The trailer opens with Sunny Sandler as Stacy trying to convince her parents to book top-tier talent for her celebration. “My bat mitzvah determines the rest of my life,” she says. “If I had a kick-ass party, doors would open, and I just think Dua Lipa would make the party perfect.”

“You can have a ball pit,” Adam Sandler replies.

Later in the trailer, Menzel opens the front door to her house for a woman named Gabi, played by Adam Sandler’s real-life wife, Jackie Sandler. In the background, Sunny Sandler yells at her dad, saying, “You’re a jerk and you won’t let me have a mojito bar!”

“That’s why we fought the Nazis?” Adam Sandler yells back. “So you could have a mojito bar?”

You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah premieres on Aug. 25.
