Netflix has picked a congenial spot for its upcoming tale of Camelot.
The streaming service announced on Twitter that its long-awaited series adaptation of Cursed, the Arthurian illustrated YA fantasy novel by Thomas Wheeler and Frank Miller, will be released this summer. On Twitter, Netflix provided a look at several stills from the series.

The book, published by Simon and Schuster last October, is a retelling of the King Arthur story that focuses on Nimue, a young woman on a quest who becomes the fabled Lady of the Lake. The series will star Katherine Langford, who played a key role in the first two seasons of the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, based on the 2007 YA book by Jay Asher.
Last December, Netflix found success with another fantasy series, The Witcher, based on a series of novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski; it focuses on Geralt of Rivia, a freelance monster hunter and killer with superhuman abilities in an ancient fantasy realm, and has been renewed for a second season.
In 2004, Wheeler published the fantasy-mystery novel The Arcanum, which features Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, H.P. Lovecraft, Harry Houdini, and vodou queen Marie Laveau facing off against Lucifer. He also created the well-regarded superhero TV show The Cape, which aired for one season on NBC in 2011. Miller is known for his landmark work as a comic-book writer and artist, most notably the 1986 Batman miniseries The Dark Knight Returns; the films Sin City and 300 are also based on his work.
