Iliza Shlesinger is returning to the book world.
The comedian’s second book, All Things Aside: Absolutely Correct Opinions, will be published this fall, Abrams Image announced in a news release. The press says the book “offers unexpected insights, much-needed truths, and tons and tons of laughs.”
Shlesinger rose to fame in 2008 after winning the comedy competition show Last Comic Standing. Since then, she’s hosted television series including Separation Anxiety and Excused, and starred in five comedy specials for Netflix.
She published her first book, Girl Logic: The Genius and the Absurdity, in 2017. A critic for Kirkus wrote, “An amusing stand-up bit buckles under the weight of a book-length treatment.”
Abrams Image says the new book’s topics “range from dissecting social expectations to the notion that products marketed specifically to women are scams, and all manner of things in between.…Shlesinger also shares intimate moments including a devastating miscarriage, which she manages to navigate not only with grace, but somehow, with side-splitting humor.”
Shlesinger shared news of her book on Instagram, writing, “January 15 of 2021 I wrote a sample chapter for a book idea and I sent it to my agent. Here we are a year later and I AM SO PROUD TO SHARE THIS!!!”
All Things Aside is scheduled for publication on Oct. 18.
