LeBron James has a new children’s book coming in 2026.
HarperCollins Children’s Books will publish the basketball star’s Happy Spooky Halloween, illustrated by Ariel Landy, next summer, the press announced in a news release. It calls the book “a spooktacular picture book about teamwork and Halloween thrills.”
James, the power forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, is one of the most decorated basketball players in history, winning four NBA championships and receiving the NBA Most Valuable Player award four times.
He is the author of three previous children’s books, We Are Family, illustrated by Andrea Williams, and I Promise and I Am More Than, both illustrated by Niña Mata.
Happy Spooky Halloween is about a girl named Zara and her friends who get a little too scared at their elementary school’s Halloween party; they work with older kids at the school to make it an event that everyone can enjoy.
“Since I was little, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, so I’ve been looking forward to this book for a long time,” James said in a statement. “I’m excited to bring that joy and genuine love for all things Halloween into this story for young kids to connect with and even learn an important lesson through this spooky, fun time of year.”
Happy Spooky Halloween is slated for publication on July 21, 2026.
