Oscar-nominated actress Sharon Stone will tell her life story in a memoir to be published by Alfred A. Knopf next spring, the publisher said in a news release.

In The Beauty of Living Twice, Stone will write about her troubled childhood, her 2001 stroke, and her career as an actress and a humanitarian.

“Stone in these pages echoes the Stone who made headlines throughout her career: She is courageous, honest, and outspoken, refusing to pull any punches when discussing aspects of the trauma and violence she endured as a child and how her chosen career as an actress echoed many of those same assaults,” Knopf said.

Stone is one of America’s most recognizable actresses. She made her global breakthrough with the controversial 1992 film Basic Instinct and has starred in movies like Casino and The Disaster Artist.

Stone shared news of the memoir on her Instagram account, posting a picture of the book’s cover with the caption, “Possibility made me write this book: the opportunity to grow, and to share that growth. I have learned to forgive the unforgivable. My hope is that as I share my journey, you too will learn to do the same.”

A webpage for the book describes it as “a book for the wounded, and a book for the survivors; it’s a celebration of women’s strength and resilience, a reckoning, and a call to activism.”

The Beauty of Living Twice is slated for publication on March 30, 2021.
