A comfortable blend of anecdote and analysis.
British journalist Rentzenbrink was always an Agatha Christie fan. When she needed to pull herself out of the doldrums, she turned to Christie for inspiration. Rentzenbrink’s intelligent research and introspective narration offer a thorough exploration of Christie’s many works while also shining a light on what was happening in Christie’s life as she was writing novels and short stories. Rentzenbrink’s critique rekindles her own literary flame, helping her to move past the stumbling blocks keeping her from writing. Rentzenbrink’s voice is serious yet matter-of-fact, maintaining a sense of objectivity while at the same time drawing listeners in.
