Joel Leslie, narrator of many of Sebastian’s earlier titles, brings his theatrical style to the author’s contemporary romance debut. After many seasons co-starring with hunky himbo Charlie Blake on a popular SF TV series, grumpy actor Simon Devereaux has decided to cut ties with the show. Fans have “shipped” Simon and Charlie’s characters for years, but Simon is shocked to discover that he and Charlie might actually have feelings for each other in real life. An unexpected invitation to go on a road trip together provides Simon a chance to prove he’s not leaving the show because he and Charlie don’t get along, and to find out if they do, in fact, have real sparks between them. Joel Leslie’s animated and bombastic narration style might throw some listeners, but his performance is full of heart and hilarity and is perfect for the banter between Simon and Charlie.

by TJ Alexander ; read by Harrison Knights ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 11, 2025
Harrison Knights narrates TJ Alexander's debut historical romance. Needing to keep up appearances while in London for the season, eccentric Lord Christopher Eden reluctantly hires James Harding as his valet. Knights captures Christopher's somewhat persnickety nature, as well as the aching loneliness that causes him to make deeply awkward overtures of friendship toward his new valet. In contrast, Knights gives James a somewhat sardonic tone, but his underlying dedication to his position and overall professional devotion to his employer are always clear. As the two men tentatively establish their relationship, Knights's care with their emotional development is evident. The numerous secondary characters are also distinctly voiced, creating a rich environment for Christopher and James's story.

Mary Robinette Kowal narrates an enthralling historical fantasy about the aftermath of indifference. Much has changed since the fall of Amberlough City: Diplomat Lillian DePaul is feeling vulnerable, cabaret star Aristide Makricosta is in exile, and stripper-turned-revolutionary Cordelia Lehane is tired. Kowal delivers a stunning performance. While the focus is narrower than the first book’s, the cast of characters is just as large, and Kowal creates fully realized personalities for all of them, no matter how brief their appearance. Glamorous film stars, wily politicians, anxious conspirators, and desperate lovers all need to survive, regardless of the cost to anyone else—and Kowal makes them believable. Her powerhouse performance will leave listeners eager for the final installment.
