This is partly the tale of a Crow Indian who is forced to leave the reservation after committing a crime. He subsequently turns himself into buttoned-up insurance salesman Sam Hunter. But mostly it's the story of his unraveling at the hands of Indian spirit guide Coyote. All is hilariously presented by James Jenner. He voices Sam with earnest seriousness and gob-struck incredulity, making him a wonderfully droll character. He creates a Coyote of mischievousness and glee, at the same time giving Sam's would-be girlfriend, Calliope, the perfect flower child innocence. Great fun for fans of this master of whimsical fables.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
