by Elin Hilderbrand ; Read by Erin Bennett ‧ RELEASE DATE: June 20, 2023
Erin Bennett shines in this story of loss, friendship, forgiveness, and love. Hollis Shaw grew up on Nantucket but built a life away from the island after college. From the outside, her life appears perfect as the creator of "Hungry with Hollis." But after the untimely death of her husband, Hollis must rebuild, so she hosts a "Five Star Weekend" with four friends from different parts of her life. Bennett creates believable distinctions between Hollis; her daughter, Caroline; and her friends Tatum, Dru-Ann, Brooke, and Gigi. As each woman brings secrets to the weekend, Bennett's tone, pacing, and inflections perfectly match the characters and storylines. Truths are revealed and friendships rebuilt. Listeners will laugh, cry, and empathize with the challenges and triumphs the characters face.

In this sequel to Terms of Endearment, Larry McMurtry brings back Aurora Greenway, who is now dealing with her various lovers and friends plus three grown grandchildren with a variety of problems. He presents a tale of growing up and growing old which is bittersweet and funny. Narrator Ivey uses a slight east Texas accent which authenticates the setting of the story. Each character's voice has a slightly different inflection to differentiate it. It all works together well. To Fred Fairly, a Cambridge Fellow, truth is everything. What then is the truth about the woman he finds beside him when he awakens? English conventions and mores of 1912 Cambridge are central to this period piece. Callow's wonderful voice and interpretation make accents, personalities and gender come alive, and help make sense of the frequent time and character shifts. His delivery enhances a most clever "choose your own ending."
