Three narrators delight in this sultry paranormal romance. Birdie, a doctoral student, accepts a last-minute research fellowship on Burr Island, where her best friend pushes her into a job with her reluctant uncle, Jasper, portrayed by Gregory Salinas. Everything seems great on the island until Jasper, secretly the high priest of a witch coven, is attacked by a mysterious hooded figure, a wraith named Dáinn. When Birdie stops the attack, the three characters become intertwined in witchy history, mystery, and a heated polyamorous romance. Megan Wicks is a true standout, capturing Birdie's wit and understanding with her perfect tones. Shane East is perfect as Dáinn, and listeners will hear the yearning in his voice.

Narrator Fred Berman returns listeners to the world of Infernal Affairs in Savannah, Georgia, in this sequel to Hell To Pay (2026). Luke Tievel, the son of the devil and a hellhound, investigates crimes of a paranormal nature with his human partner, Sorcha O’Malley. Luke’s current case is the decapitation of two werewolves. Berman conveys Luke’s frustration as he tries to solve the murders as well as the mystery of why creatures are after Sorcha. When Luke was banished from hell, several demons followed him, and Berman gives each of them a unique voice, infusing his narration with a touch of humor. Berman’s tone vibrates with power when Luke confronts his enemies.

Narrator Jim Frangione once again draws listeners into Ward's world, where humans coexist with vampires (unbeknownst to the humans). The vampires are being hunted by creatures known as Lessers. Vampire Allhan has an unexpected encounter with Princess Dennesha. Passion flares between them, but both are struggling with secrets: Frangione conveys Dennesha’s frustration with her destiny, and he fully expresses Allhan’s agony as he’s torn between trying to protect his sister and betraying his adopted family. The vampire race is protected by The Brotherhood, and Frangione perfectly brings the brothers to life.
Frangione is the longtime narrator of this series, and his familiarity with it adds to the listening experience.Pub Date: Sept. 29, 2026
