Is this the best audiobook Ever? If you're a fan of writer/actor Eric Bogosian, the answer is probably yes. Even if you're not, this is a great example of how a writer and gifted audio performer can craft a story geared especially to his talents. Bogosian reads this urban love story of a supermodel and a doctor who is having a midlife crisis with the same skill he applies to his performance works, such as SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL. The difference is that in this work Bogosian's characters get to interact with each other over the course of a stimulating narrative. No question--if you're going to experience this book, audio is the way to go.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
