Narrator Jim Frangione returns the listener to the vampire world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Vampire Apex is working at an estate in northern New York, where he encounters Callum, a wolven with whom he has a shared past. Apex had fallen for Callum, but Callum had been tortured and wasn't able to deal with the emotions he felt afterward. It's been 30 years since they've seen each other. Frangione conveys all the angst they both feel. Also at the estate is Marisol, who is in danger, and Frangione brings out all her anxiety. Frangione provides the vampires with deep voices that match their powerful personalities. The listener will become immersed in the story through Frangione's fine performance.

Frangione is the longtime narrator of this series, and his familiarity with it adds to the listening experience.
Narrator Jim Frangione once again draws listeners into Ward's world, where humans coexist with vampires (unbeknownst to the humans). The vampires are being hunted by creatures known as Lessers. Vampire Allhan has an unexpected encounter with Princess Dennesha. Passion flares between them, but both are struggling with secrets: Frangione conveys Dennesha’s frustration with her destiny, and he fully expresses Allhan’s agony as he’s torn between trying to protect his sister and betraying his adopted family. The vampire race is protected by The Brotherhood, and Frangione perfectly brings the brothers to life.

Sentimental and heartfelt.
Megan Wicks and Robert Hatchet convey all the emotions in this small-town contemporary romance with a slight touch of the supernatural. Clarke Cartwright has the ability to see and talk to ghosts—including the ghost of her childhood crush’s father, who wants her to pass on a message. Leith Wilkes is preparing to take over the family farm when he learns of a troublesome clause in his inheritance. Wicks’ warm, alluring tone lets listeners understand Clarke’s inner turmoil and conflict. Hatchet makes Leith easy to love, giving him an affable, rich timbre and portraying his affection and fervor. The duet narration shines during emotional conversations and intimate moments.
