Her first job out of college is one that any young woman would give her right arm to have: assistant to the famous, powerful, legendary, magnificent Miranda Priestly, editor of Runway magazine and doyenne of international fashion. But as Andrea Sachs finds herself less than an errand girl who is abused verbally and constantly at the demand of this arrogant, unfeeling woman, we are treated to the spectacle of the high-fashion world through the reading talent of Bernadette Dunne. She imparts the frenzy of cell phone slaves, the embarrassment of one reprimanded in public, and the exhaustion of being on call incessantly. In a clear voice she delights in the silliness of the industry while interpreting the relationships with compassion. She does the author a fine service.

by Gerald A. Browne ; Read by Barry Bostwick ‧ RELEASE DATE: Jan. 22, 1993
This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
