Baker portrays Pepper with a thoughtful, down-to-earth tone, which makes her, and her unlikely predicament, believable. After she’s involved in a minor car accident, Pepper’s children place her in a retirement community. There she becomes romantically involved with fellow resident Moth, whose charm and sincerity come through in his light British accent. Soon Pepper discovers that she’s pregnant. She is uncertain about her next steps, having received inconsistent information from her medical team. When news of her pregnancy leaks, she becomes the center of a media frenzy.

by Gerald A. Browne ; read by Barry Bostwick ‧ RELEASE DATE: Jan. 22, 1993
This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
