He doesn't want to risk losing her friendship. Sadly, the story has gaps and inconsistencies; the audiobook seems to have been poorly edited. Nonetheless, Martineck's vocal versatility shines as the pair discover ghosts from different times and places.

Alongside Penn, Sylvie embarks on a series of summer activities, which Castano describes beautifully. But Castano's optimistic tones turn grave as the story unfolds.
