Helen Laser narrates this opposites-attract romance, which follows a perfectionist math professor, Catherine, and her doorman, Luca, on a search for Catherine's lost identity. Before starting her new teaching job, Catherine finds out that her personal information has mysteriously disappeared from all government and academic records. Desperate for help, she reluctantly teams up with Luca, the always-late, perpetually cheerful doorman in her new apartment building. As Luca tries to fix Catherine's problem, she realizes he may not be the person she thought he was and allows herself to imagine a different future for herself. Laser captures Catherine's seriousness and adds just the right amount of tenderness and humor to the story, especially when dealing with Catherine's father, a circus performer, and her elderly neighbors.

A rich, floral world made real by two equally divine narrators.
Ellie Gossage and Jess Nahikian show the passion in a heated rivalry between two women from very different walks of life. Cyprin is determined to find her way into the elite Divine Gardens, even if she has to break the law to do it. Purcell, meanwhile, was born into a celebrated lineage of head gardeners. Soon, their rivalry reaches an inflection point, causing Purcell to steal a life-altering rose, while Cyprin engages with an underground group bent on redistributing power. Nahikian’s cynical, down-to-earth Cyprin perfectly contrasts with Gossage’s uptight Purcell, with both narrators showing the soft sides of the two gardeners. Even as disaster strikes, the budding love between these two quickly blossoms.

Petkoff’s strong performance brings to life all the creatures of this fantastical world.
The mythical realm of Skein is inhabited by vampires, werewolves, witches, demons, and Berserkers. Narrator Robert Petkoff is masterful navigating the wide range of characters, giving each a distinctive voice. He lends the werewolves a Scottish lilt, and his tone drips with evil as a particular vampire. The Accession, an ancient cycle of battle, is about to begin. As all the factions come together, connections are made: A vampire princess escaping her sadistic brother ends up wed to a Berserker. A werewolf finds his mate in a demon witch. A vampiress and an incubus form a partnership.
