The backstage stories of how the greatest movie minds of a generation shaped Hollywood for decades to come are a joy to hear. Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and others are presented in an unvarnished, interconnected narrative that details their successes, failures, risks, and rewards. Shaun Taylor-Corbett narrates the chronicle expertly, though the stories of the different directors tend to run together, which can be confusing when listening. Any movie lover will thrill at hearing these tales about how the movies they love were made—and sometimes almost not made.

by Dick Van Dyke ; read by Tom Bergeron & Dick Van Dyke [Intro.] ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 18, 2025
While a brief introduction to this audiobook is voiced by Dick Van Dyke himself, the balance is assigned to his friend Tom Bergeron. He does a remarkable, impeccable, and simply wonderful job, narrating with a rhythm and tonality similar to Van Dyke's. One might believe one is listening to the 100-year-old actor himself. In addition to talking about his life, Van Dyke also quite candidly describes living with the health and mobility issues that have touched him in his most recent years. Throughout the presentation, anecdotes and vignettes thoughtfully portray the pivotal influences on the man and his sensibilities. The novel approach of presenting the ever optimistic Van Dyke's "rules for living" works effectively.

by Ron Darling ; read by Malcolm Hillgartner ‧ RELEASE DATE: April 2, 2019
More books have been written about baseball than any other sport, and audiobooks such as this allow the genre to flourish. Former pitcher Ron Darling, now a broadcaster, had a distinguished career, primarily with the New York Mets. Darling has met just about everyone in the sport for nearly four decades and demonstrates his knowledge and connections with the anecdotes in this entertaining memoir. Narrator Malcolm Hillgartner's relaxed delivery sounds as though he is in the broadcast booth with Darling. Like most audio sports memoirs, this book succeeds because of the narrator's engaging style. Hillgartner recognizes that even the duller moments in baseball are bolstered by the legacies of so many who have played the game, and were fortunate to have crossed paths with the author.
