Golden Voice Narrator Julia Whelan creates an intimate and immediate listening experience in this contemporary audiobook featuring the California landscape. Thirty-three-year-old Daphne, an assistant to a movie producer, is searching for love. Whelan takes listeners through Daphne's romantic history with one unusual twist: At the start of each relationship, Daphne mysteriously receives a slip of paper with the name of her new partner and the length of time their relationship will last. When Daphne meets Jake, however, the slip contains only his name. Is this her happily-ever-after, or will other complications impede this love match? Whelan highlights Daphne's intelligence and kindness. Her supporting character portrayals round out this depiction of a relatable woman who is searching for lasting love.

English conventions and mores of 1912 Cambridge are central to this period piece.
