by Shannon Dittemore ; Read by Cassandra Campbell ‧ RELEASE DATE: Feb. 19, 2013
In this second installation of the Angel Eyes Trilogy, Cassandra Campbell's narration exudes suspense and intrigue. Her diction has a seductive quality, as if she tastes the words as she speaks them. Jake and Brielle remain in danger from demons who want to corrupt their supernatural gifts. Jake teaches Brielle to fight with faith and prayer, but he's hiding something that will shake her faith in him--and in God. Campbell's voice conveys awe as she describes the praise of angels, making the religious aspects of this story as alluring as the romance. A minor character is added as narrator, a cherubic spy named Pearla, who gives listeners a glimpse of hell, where demonic plans are being hatched. Campbell's character differentiation between the story's three narrators is subtle but entirely effective.

by Atia Abawi ; Read by Leila Buck ‧ RELEASE DATE: Jan. 22, 2018
Leila Buck narrates this haunting tale of Tareq, a teenage boy who is trying to escape the political turmoil in Syria. In Europe he hopes to find a better life for his family. The omniscient narration is provided by none other than Destiny, and Buck speaks with the regal cadence one would expect of such a lofty narrator. Destiny occasionally interjects philosophical musings on the nature of humanity, helping listeners relate even more deeply to Tareq's struggles. At times, the story verges on a thriller, particularly when Tareq has a run-in with a human trafficker and Buck injects tension into her otherwise carefully metered voice. This timely, powerful audiobook is sure to stoke empathy in its listeners.
