by Steven Ujifusa ; Read by Arthur Morey ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 21, 2023
Arthur Morey's pleasing baritone is a wonderful match for this account of the mass migration of Eastern European Jews to the New World. The whole journey involved many people and eventually became big business for bankers, shipping companies (including the White Star Line of TITANIC fame,) railroads, and charities/NGOs, such as the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS). I myself, along with so many others, am descended from ancestors who made this journey. This account is fascinating, and Morey's narration is splendid. He is appropriately expressive, pronounces words clearly, and has perfect pacing.

by David Margolick ; Read by Rob Shapiro ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 11, 2025
With understated naturalism, Rob Shapiro introduces listeners to Sid Caesar, the first comic superstar of television. From 1949 to 1957, as many as 60 million viewers tuned in weekly to Caesar's inspired improvisational sketch comedy juggernauts, "Your Show of Shows" and "Caesar's Hour." Caesar's writers' room of protégés such as Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, and Neil Simon went on to influence the entertainment world for close to 70 years. Shapiro's delivery reflects the author's emphatic, almost argumentative, opinion that even with his volatile temper, self-doubt, addictions, and professional burnout, Caesar should be fondly remembered. Who's forgetting? The rags-to-riches story of a Jewish boy from Yonkers practically inventing television comedy is the stuff of legend.

by Jonathan Freedland ; Read by Jonathan Freedland ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 28, 2025
In 1943 a select group from the upper echelons of German society gathered at a tea party. They hated what Germany had become under Hitler, and they resolved to stop him. Author and narrator Jonathan Freedland engages listeners in this little-known story of Nazi resistance. His narration is both articulate and steady. His voice drives the narrative with energy, infusing excitement during the group's success in rescuing Jews and evoking dread at their failure to kill Hitler. This account offers dramatic and detailed descriptions of their eventual capture and incarceration, including the torture and other suffering they endured. Listeners will be transfixed by Freedland's skillful account of these courageous anti-Nazis.
