Books by Cookie Combs

Cookie Combs has put her master’s degree in music performance to good use in her series of children’s picture books. In them, she transforms common childhood experiences into galloping poems accompanied by pen, brush and ink, colored pencils and graphite illustrations done by Combs herself. Kirkus has enjoyed each of the three books Combs has submitted to the Kirkus Discoveries service—now Kirkus Indie—and named Wonder and Whimsy Poems for Kids the best Kirkus Discoveries children’s book of 2010.
