KIRKUS REVIEW

In a lengthy original fairy tale written nearly 100 years ago by one of the all-time greats of this form, a princess suffers the comical-logical effects of her unfortunately worded wish for hair that would "grow an inch every day, and grow twice as fast every time it was cut." Lynch's satirical characterizations and romantic settings, skillfully rendered in full-page watercolors, are in perfect accord with the delightful text. An excellent reminder of just how good a literary tale can be.
