KIRKUS REVIEW

Down Fall, up Burningham: a first alphabet book of familiar objects, the letter in upper and lower case, the word underneath on the left, the full-page, full-color illustration on the right; a big beautiful alphabet book, John Burningham at his fresh, funny best. See the Birds (remember Borka?) all shapes, all sizes, all stances; see the red-robed, black-bearded Assyrian King; see the pink and purple and black and brown Pigs of modest mien on a page strewn with daisies; see the stout, straining Runners, the awesome orange Sun, the Umbrellas up and down and inside out. Great looking, good learning.
