KIRKUS REVIEW

Illustrated by Helen Sewell and Mildred Boyle, and a splendid addition to the other fine books in the series. In this, Laura, not quite sixteen, goes off to teach school at the Brewster Settlement; her trials are hard with the sour Mrs. Brewster, the extreme cold, the problems of the pupils. Her happiness comes with Almanzo Wilder, whom she marries at the end of the book.
