KIRKUS REVIEW

As far as we're concerned Babar's welcome anywhere. In his latest naively told, grandly illustrated adventures, King Babar's three children meet Piros and Cardombal, the red-feathered ambassadors of Bird Island, who invite the neatly tailored elephants over for a splendid session of activities and festivities. Babar, Pom, Flora, Alexander, Col. Cornelius and the rest watch ostrich races, visit bird homes, catch a wicked fish, feast, and invite the birds to visit them.
