KIRKUS REVIEW

Aptly-named Lettice is a charmingly sweet bunny who is asked to be the flower girl at the wedding of her dance teacher, a woman named Giselle. Lettice visits Giselle’s home to learn about her role as the flower girl and to meet the ring bearer, a boy named Harry. They prepare for the big day, when Lettice averts a disaster by finding the wedding ring that Harry has lost. The traditional ceremony takes place successfully, attended by both rabbits and humans, and Lettice performs a special dance at the reception as her gift to the bridal couple. Though the story is rather slight, the pastel-hued illustrations are appealing, augmented with a touch of sparkly glitter on the wedding finery of the bride and flower girl. Prospective flower girls (and those who would like to join their ranks) will enjoy Lettice’s wedding adventure, the “most perfect day” of her young life. (Picture book. 3-6)
