DOUBLE STAR by Robert A. Heinlein

DOUBLE STAR

KIRKUS REVIEW

Lorenzo Smythe, an actor, is persuaded to impersonate the Chief Minister, Bonforte, whose disappearance and non-appearance at an important Martian meeting will threaten an already uneasy equilibrium between the races of both planets. After an intense briefing for his new post, Smythe is still not above detection-by the Emperor, and an attempted exposure by a newspaperman. But he is able to carry on and carry it off, so that when it is learned that Bonforte will never return- he is ready to keep his identity... Not too far flung nor far fetched.
