KIRKUS REVIEW

A unique take on the alien-visiting-Earth concept prevalent in B movies and television 50 years ago. What’s different here is that the alien in question has a shocking potty mouth with absolutely no filter; F-bombs appear throughout the story and threaten to steer readers away from the narrative. The being’s human “suit” has been formed to resemble a young Clint Eastwood; thus, his name is Clint. His mission is to contact another alien that has been placed on Earth and has achieved Oscar-winning status as a Hollywood actor. Clint washes up on Venice Beach and hooks up with Kip, a drunken slacker. Clint also meets Zoe, a runaway teen he repeatedly presses for sex. Lombardi has a knack for writing witty dialogue but the bright moments are shoved into the background by constant swearing and repeated commentary about Clint’s enormous penis. Book selectors should be aware that this title is every bit as graphic as any current adult street-lit title. (Science fiction. YA)
